The 3/4 Pose

While doodling and practicing drawing people (a continual struggle) I decided to give the 3/4 portrait angle a shot. It turned out better than I expected. People-drawing is slowly (very slowly) getting better. Now to get those proportions right…

Portraits with Rainbows

One notion I’ve always maintained is that that bathrooms are one of the best places in any given house to take photographs. The high, narrow windows (for privacy) in combination with the white walls and tiles along with the huge mirrors make for an altogether unique kind of lighting. For instance, in my upstairs bathroom between 4:30 and 5:00 PM….there are rainbows.

In following with my resolution to get better at portraits (f4.5, exposure 1/30 sec, ISO 250) :

Oh, Hello.

So I’m working at my desk when suddenly I hear this skritch-skritch-scratch and I look up and…

…well, hey there.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve saw my family and family friends at a delicious dinner party with delicious Chinese food, and then touring especially spectacular Christmas light displays (and they were spectacular indeed). We ended the night with a brief walk through Christmas in the Park in San Jose and finally midnight mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph, which is an absolutely gorgeous cathedral. Pictures follow:

I really love taking nighttime pictures.

Merry Christmas to everybody, and happy birthday to baby Jesus!

Tap Shoes

A sketch of my tap shoes I did for a card to my dance studio. Dedicated to the wonderful staff of Yoko’s Dance and Performing Arts Academy. Thank you for all you’ve taught me and so many amazing experiences!
